I wanted to share my new pieces I got this past weekend in NYC ! One street over from Megan's new apartment is the cutest boutique called Think Closet and I fell inlove !! Everything is one of a kind and is super feminine and bright and über girly 💄🎀 if your in the area you gotta stop by !! 

New York City-Summer Love

What an absolutely amazing weekend ! NYC is one of my favorite places to visit for so many reason ❤ delicious food, great friends, Hillsong, beautiful buildings, fun fashion and so much more! This trip we explored some places we hadn't been including the MOMA PS1 Warm Up party and a cute flea market in Long Island City and walking down the high line, playing in the west village , finding cute boutiques and parks not to mentions lots of new fun tasty restaurants and bars like Taka Taka, Gilligans, Pommes Frites and Rosemary's !!

Summertime Beach Stroll

Honestly how amazing is a sunset walk with one of your best friends to the beach?!?! I am so blessed to live in such a beautiful place as Cape Cod and in the summer there is nothing that can top our Craigville Beach walk! With winter being such a drag we try to make the most of gorgeous days like today was 👙🍹! I can't tell you how many times I've walked past this view and every time it blows me away ! 

Awapoochi

Solution for anyone who has a playful dog who loves running around the yard rain for shine ? Awapoochi by Paul Mitchell !!! My cousin who is in beauty school program at a Paul Mitchell salon suggested this line to us and it's a life saver ! Besides the great smelling gentle shampoo and cream rinse they also have these fabulous in between bath wipes to clean up your pooch quick if you don't have time for a full bath. Theodore loves having his bathes now 😊

Martha's Vineyard

This past weekend my girlfriends and I decided to have a little birthday adventure and spend the day over on the Vineyard ! It was so much fun and so special to celebrate with my two favorite ladies Kate of SwoonCollection and miss Carley ! If you have never been to the islands it's a must ! There are so many fun boutiques and yummy restaurants (they even have lobster ice cream !!) plus it gave me an excuse to wear my new Marc by Marc Jacobs Panama hat ! Hope your all having a great summer !!

Kentucky Derby 2013

Sorry this is so late but here are a few snapshots of my amazing but rainy weekend at the Kentucky Derby ! Friday we did a historical bourbon tasting around the area and Saturday was a muddy silly crazy day of dancing in the rain but definitely something I will never forget ! One more thing I can check off the bucket list thanks to Megan's amazingly generous parents who hosted us :)

Cuteness overload ! This weekend my boyfriends little sister got this little guy and he melted all of our hearts ! At only 7 weeks old he is so feisty, playful, sweet and loving <3

Travel Day-Kentucky Bound

I made it ! Yesterday was the big travel day to head to the Kentucky Derby with all 8 of my friends :) Despite almost missing my connector flight we all made it to the plane and arrived just in time to meet Megan's sweet momma who picked us up and even had welcome goodie bags for all of us ! Felt like we were 10 again having a big sleepover ! My hat wouldn't fit in my bag so I just wore it lol. Wine and bourbon tastings today throughout Kentucky , more pics to come !

Manicure Mondays

Back when I was a student at University of Arizona I remembered girls getting these spectacular shellac manicures using super pigmented loose glitter and it looked so incredible! I don't know why but using a plain glitter polish just doesn't give the same effect as these manicures so when I came across this glitter at A.C. Moore I just had to try it out for myself using a similar technique as I usually do with the gel polish from Sally beauty and hoped for the best ! While it was kind of messy it actually turned out super cute and I have gotten tuns of compliments at work today :) can't wait to rock it at The Derby this weekend! What are some nail polish trends you all are trying for spring ?

So I don't know about you gals but I feel like I'm seeing more and more manicures using decorative striping to add some flare to your every day nail art ! How did I not think of this sooner ?! Its genius ! Have any of you tried it?

Crafty Sunday

So for any of you out there who weren't in a sorority let me just say there is a LOT of crafting ....a INSANE amount of crafting...and if you didn't have any skills with a glue gun and some mod podge then you learned fast ! I was lucky and thanks to my mom I can sew somewhat decently and know my way around a Michael's and Jo-Ann Fabrics but when I graduated I felt like I'd never get the chance to use these skills again :/ ! Who would have thought my skills would finally be needed again !!!! As you may know from my previous post I have been on the hunt for a Kentucky Derby hat but since I live in New England there isn't really much need for huge hats except for straw ones to the beach, not even the crazy vintage store had anything derby-esk ! I was going nuts only finding plain straw hats so I resorted to my secrets skills and took my plain hat to A.C Moore for supplies and pulled out my handy dandy glue gun, some ribbon and a needle and thread and !BAM! I present to you a very derby-licious hat !! Very proud of myself if I do say so ;) !

Wednesday's Most Wanted-Matcha Green Tea

SO I started hearing about matcha green tea everywhere.....from my friends, celebrity blogs, health guru's, nutritionists, and I decided I needed to learn more ASAP! WOW ! This is like the ultimate super green tea! One article I was reading said that one cup of matcha has the health benefits of drinking 10 glasses of regular green tea ! More Matcha Health Benefits can be found on this website ! I just had to have it after hearing how incredible it is for weight loss and over all health ! This weekend Kate from SwoonCollection and I went on a hunt all over for it and finally came across this one at Teavana in our local mall. ITS DELICIOUS !!! Not only can you drink it by itself but I added it to my green smoothies in the morning and have so much more energy then I had before and without the jittery side effects of coffee or other caffeinated products!! Definitely a new staple in my diet <3

Sunny Saturday

There is nothing better then waking up on a spring morning , birds chirping , sun shining, and getting in a good workout in the fresh air ! My best friend Kate from Swoon Collection and I always love spending time down on the canal, catching up, having girl talk, planning new diets with each other, catching some rays and showing off fun new workout clothes. Today we were blessed with a beautiful spring day and we jumped at the chance to put on our tennies and head down to the waterfront! Happy Saturday everyone :)

Wednesdays Most Wanted-Derby Hat

I am lucky enough to have been invited to go to the Kentucky Derby this year with some fabulous girl friends ! But now the dilemma of WHAT TO WEAR ?! And more importantly the hunt for the perfect HAT! My mom and I are making my dress from a 50s vintage Vogue pattern and got some pretty fabric to go with our 1950s housewife tea dress theme ! But finding an equally as fabulous hat seems to be all I can think about ! What do you guys think ?! Big or small , colorful or understated neutral, crazy fun or simple sophisticated ?!?!

My Morning Smoothie

This delicious smoothie is my go-to in the mornings ! Not only is it extremely nutritious but it's so tasty you forget how healthy your being and it's easy to take on the go ! I use a Ninja Professional 1000 Watt blender ....I think it may have been the best money I've ever spent other then my Manolo Blahnik gold strappy sandals haha !

In your blender add

12 oz almond milk
1 fresh orange
5 slices frozen peaches
Handful of frozen blackberries
4-6 fresh or frozen strawberries
2 large handfuls of fresh baby spinach
1.5 tbl of FitFlax Roasted Golden flax with Chia
* I pulse a few times to get the big stuff broken down and then let it sit on 3 for a minute or two until I get the desired consistency*

Easter in NYC

I couldn't have asked for a better weekend ! NYC for Easter is a tradition I started last year visiting my best friend from college in the big apple! Fun, shopping, new friends, inspiration, delicious food, late night convos over ice cream, street art, thrift stores, sherry tasting, Hillsong and lots of love !

Wednesdays Most Wanted

As the beautiful Marilyn Monroe once said "Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world." .

After watching this video I couldn't help but feel inspired myself and fall in-love with every single pair of heels featured in the film ! I know what ill be wearing this weekend in NYC to add that extra pep in my step ! ❤The ETTA ❤

Manicure Mondays

What girl doesn't love nail art ? I know I've always had fun playing with different colors, designs and glitter , no matter how old I get ! With Easter next weekend and pastels everywhere I couldn't help but get a little festive ! On my mani this week I used Sally Hanson Smooth & Perfect in #6 Air and Essie Luxeffects in Set In Stones ( let me just say OMG this is seriously the most amazing glitter polish out there and worth every penny! It comes on so nice and rich with glitter and drys really fast without getting goopy like some cheapo brands)

To make my mani last the work week and all I put it through without chipping I have 2 secret weapons : "Gelous Advanced Gel Coat " &" "Out The Door Top Coat " (Both products can be bought at any Sally Beauty's ) .

* I applied two coats of the Gelous Advanced Nail Gel Coat to my nails, giving 2 minutes in-between to dry. After the second coat I let it set for 2-3 minutes.
* Then I apply a layer of nail color and let it dry for about 4 minutes.
* Then I put another layer of Gelous Nail Gel on top of my nail color and let it set for about 2 more minutes so that it's fairly dry and not too tacky. Its super important to make sure that the ends of your nails are totally covered in polish and sealed by swiping the brush over the ends. This will guarantee you won't see even a single chip for the entire week of your manicure !
* I apply a second coat of my nail color and finish it off with a nice thick layer of Out The Door Top Coat. I love it for the high shine factor , makes it look so rich and lux !

Living For The Weekend

Like many of you who work your typical 9-5 know the weekends are time for catching up with friends and family , beauty hauls with your best girlfriend, nail art , DIY projects and anything else you can cram in ! Here's to being a weekend warrior !
